Inspired by the Beazley award-nominated ME & EU project, where creatives were asked to respond to Brexit in their own ways and styles, I created my own series of European Union flags using the Emoji language which has come to dominate how we communicate on social media.
Using Emoji symbols which are opposites from one another such as happy/sad, life/death, sunny/rainy and so on, these opposites reference the idea that the UK is now seen as negative and inferior to the EU following its decision to leave.
