Futhark Sans

Futhark Sans is a typeface based on the Elder Futhark alphabet; the oldest form of the runic alphabets used by Germanic and Scandinavian tribes from the 2nd to the 8th centuries.
This typeface has a sense of early 1950’s Scandinavian, round and organic design mixed with the illegibility of the original Futhark runestone inscriptions. Taking the original alphabet, I used it to create a contemporary typeface of the Latin alphabet while also keeping the original-inspired design.
This monospaced system has been used across the full alphabets and extended to additional characters, numbers, symbols and arrows.
